AMEC hydrogeologist named Bay Planning Coalitions Outstanding Member of Year


Oakland, California (17 January 2011) - AMEC, the international engineering and project management company, announces that Scott Warner from in the company's Oakland, Calif. office, has received the Outstanding Member of the Year Award from the San Francisco Bay Planning Coalition (BPC).

Warner, vice president and principal hydrogeologist with AMEC Geomatrix, was honoured for his contributions to the coalition, whose mission is to ensure that commerce, recreation and the natural environment thrive in the San Francisco Bay-Delta region. Warner has served on the coalition's Board of Directors for more than a decade, offering his technical advice to address bay planning issues. He has volunteered his time for planning the content and development of workshops including the annual Decisionmakers' conference, which last year focused on climate change and rising sea levels.

"Scott has been very prominent in our organization and has always been very supportive of our goals and missions," remarked BPC President Michael Giari. "He has served with integrity and skill and has been very generous with his time. He is truly a gentleman, and has been especially helpful to me during the last two years as president of the Bay Planning Coalition."

With AMEC, Warner leads the Environmental Engineering Practice Area.  He has more than 23 years of professional experience regarding hydrogeology, groundwater remediation, groundwater modeling and water resources consulting.  He has authored or co-authored more than 25 articles for peer-reviewed journals and other publications and has given more than 50 presentations on hydrology-related subjects.
