AMEC is Dow Jones Sustainability Index oil services industry leader for third year running

London, United Kingdom (12 September 2011) - AMEC, the international engineering and project management company, has been ranked the industry leader for oil equipment and services in the worldwide Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for 2011-12.

This is the third year in succession that AMEC has been industry leader and the eighth year in succession that it has featured in the DJSI, which annually surveys and benchmarks the world's 2,500 largest companies measured by free-float market capitalisation.

The assessment was based on corporate economic, environmental and social performance, taking into account issues such as corporate governance, risk management, climate change mitigation, corporate citizenship and philanthropy, supply chain standards and workforce practices.  Only the top 10 per cent of the best performing organisations are included in the index.

"Naturally, I'm delighted that we have again achieved a high ranking in the DJSI because it shows how genuinely committed we are to operating a sustainable business," said Will Serle, AMEC's Group Human Resources Director with management responsibility for sustainability. "The issues it deals with affect our customers, investors, employees, suppliers, communities and the environment and we will continue to invest in sustainability to achieve the highest standards of performance for the long term."
