Pacific Water Resources staff join AMEC in Portland

Portland, Ore. (18 January 2011) AMEC, the international engineering and project management company, announces that the staff of Pacific Water Resources, Inc. (PWR) have joined AMEC's Portland, Ore. office.

PWR, established in 1998, is a water resources consulting firm in Beaverton, Ore. that takes the approach of considering the watershed system as a whole in order to recognize the critical dynamics between physical and biological systems and their roles in watershed health.

PWR's staff features four of the top water resources engineers in the Pacific Northwest. They are principals Roger C. Sutherland, Habib Matin, Seth Jelen and Phil Pommier.   Collectively they provide AMEC with substantial experience in water resource engineering, watershed and floodplain management, water quality planning and design, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, stream restoration and enhancement, and computer-aided mapping and GIS analysis.

"The move will open up new opportunities and broader markets for PWR's staff while expanding the breadth of AMEC's water resources and environmental consulting practice in the Pacific Northwest," remarked AMEC Senior Vice President Douglas Smith.

"We've been very successful in this region, and this move will let us grow well beyond what we could have accomplished in terms of market reach with only one office," said PWR's Jelen. "AMEC's expansive client list across more than 200 offices in North America and abroad will benefit us, while we provide AMEC with new municipal and private sector opportunities."
