AMEC ranks as one of the top sustainability companies worldwide

London, United Kingdom, (05 February 2013) "- AMEC, the international engineering and project management company, has been ranked as the sector leader in the oil and equipment services sector by The Sustainability Yearbook 2013, published by RobescoSAM, the investment specialist focused exclusively on Sustainability Investing, and KPMG International.

This is the second year in succession that AMEC has been sector leader in The Sustainability Yearbook, which rigorously assesses the sustainability performance of more than 2,000 companies worldwide across 58 sectors.

Based on an in-depth analysis, each company is scored on up to 120 financially material economic, environmental, social and governance criteria specific to its own industry with a focus on long-term value creation. The results are published in The Sustainability Yearbook as a guide to investors, showing which companies are doing the most to address the risks and opportunities of sustainability.

Gold medals are awarded to the top-performing company within each sector and to those companies whose scores are within 1 per cent of their sector leader's score. A total of 67 companies worldwide have been awarded gold medals in The Sustainability Yearbook 2013, which corresponds to just 2.5 per cent of the companies assessed. AMEC is one of only five UK-listed companies to be honoured in this way.

"We are delighted to be recognised as a sector leader in The Sustainability Yearbook as it shows how genuinely committed we are to operating a sustainable business," said Will Serle, AMEC's Group Human Resources Director with management responsibility for sustainability. "The issues it deals with affect our customers, investors, employees, suppliers, communities and the environment and we will continue to invest in sustainability to achieve the highest standards of performance for the long term."
