02/06/2014

London, United Kingdom, (3 June 2014) "- AMEC, the international engineering and project management company, has been awarded two major framework contracts by National Grid.

Under the multi-million pound frameworks, which start immediately and run for four years with options to extend, AMEC will work on refurbishment and installation of overhead lines and installation of underground cables across England. Work packages will be tendered on an individual basis.

AMEC's first success under the frameworks is to have won a multi-million pound overhead line project in the north of England. The work is for the 400kv and 275kv replacement works for the Eggborough to Monk Fryston and Monk Fryston to Padham and Bradford West overhead line schemes.

"These important framework contracts build on the successful delivery of projects for National Grid Electricity and we are extremely pleased to have been awarded the first schemes to be carried out under the overhead line framework," said Marc Boulter, Managing Director of AMEC's Transmission and Distribution business.

"Our priority now is to ensure that we deliver safely, efficiently and innovatively for this key customer."
