AMEC is the first oil gas company to receive corporate CQI accreditation

Aberdeen, United Kingdom (25 March 2014) - AMEC, the international engineering and project management company, has been awarded corporate accreditation from the UK's Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) for recognising its professional standards and development across its quality team. The CQI is the only chartered professional body dedicated entirely to quality and exists to provide leadership, education and assessment in the field of quality in the UK and globally. The CQI have confirmed AMEC is the first oil and gas company to achieve the Institute's corporate accreditation.

"AMEC prides itself on offering market-leading brownfield engineering, so it's great that we can add even more value through our quality function as well," says Alan Johnstone, Managing Director for AMEC's brownfield and asset management business, Europe. "This accreditation is testament to our quality team who have worked hard to ensure delivery of excellence across our business."

As well as gaining professional accreditation for its quality team, AMEC is keen to support the future development of that team. In 2013, AMEC launched a Trainee Quality Programme to address the shortage of new professionals coming into the industry. The programme comprises four stages of development and trainees become qualified quality engineers upon completion. The success of the programme will see another intake of trainees welcomed into AMEC later this year.
