AMEC publishes its latest sustainability report


London, United Kingdom (9 May 2014) - AMEC, the international engineering and project management company, has issued its 2013 sustainability report in which it outlines its approach to developing a long term sustainable business.

We continue to invest in the fundamental values that underpin our sustainability strategy: believing in people, never compromising on safety, acting with integrity and sustainably delivering excellence to our customers.

"Our 2013 report shows good progress in a number of key areas. It again provides specific case studies from across the business, showing our continued commitment to embedding sustainability across all that we do."

Highlights in the report include:

  • Detailed information on the company's carbon reduction strategy, including how it met its 15% reduction target and the plans to reach the next milestone in 2020
  • An update on the launch of the company's diversity and inclusion procedure
  • A continued focus on safety. Total recordable and all-injury frequency rates decreased in 2013 by 32 and 34 per cent respectively compared with 2012 levels
  • Information on how AMEC manages ethical business conduct, including the completion of anti-bribery and corruption training by almost 21,000 of AMEC's employees
  • How the company supported local communities, including involvement of STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) activities in schools, and the design of transitional shelters for disaster relief
  • Specific examples of how sustainability is incorporated into project delivery.
